Flying private through Madrid-Barajas

All private flights into and out of Madrid use Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. Torrejón, which used to handle private jets for the capital, closed to private aviation in 2013.

At Barajas, private passengers use the General Aviation Terminal, known as Spanish FBO-Madrid. It sits on the south side of the airport, completely separate from the four main passenger terminals, and is open 24 hours a day.

You check in, clear customs and immigration and have your luggage screened inside the private terminal. You can relax in a private lounge before your handler drives you to the aircraft, a journey of around five minutes. Madrid's business district is roughly 15 minutes away by car.

Cars cannot drive onto the apron at Barajas, so your driver drops you at the private terminal and collects you there when you land.
